In this role you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the logistical operations, aggregation process, and business development activities in the Western/North- Western part of Kenya for our company. You will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and successful business growth.

Responsibilities:

  1. Logistics Management:

  • Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to ensure the timely collection of stock from fisherfolks to fish traders
  • Coordinate transportation and storage logistics, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.
  • Monitor and optimize transportation routes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring accurate stock levels and minimizing waste.
  1. Aggregation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with fish traders and fisherfolks to secure a reliable supply of fish.
  • Coordinate with fish traders and fisherfolks to plan and schedule fish deliveries, considering factors such as quantity, quality, and location.
  • Implement quality control procedures to ensure that stock received meets required standards.
  • Continuously assess and evaluate potential new suppliers to expand the network of fish traders and fisherfolks.
  1. Business Development:
  • Identify potential business opportunities and develop strategies to expand the customer base and increase market share.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns and strategies to attract new customers.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
  1. Operational Efficiency:
  • Streamline operational processes and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent and high-quality processing operations.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the plant's performance and make data-driven decisions.
  1. Team Management:
  • Lead and manage a team of operations staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of workplace safety.
