Position name: Senior Automotive TechnicianDepartment: Workshop Detailed Work Profile: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AutomotiveTechnician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record ofdiagnosing and repairing complex automotive problems, as well as a strong understandingof all major automotive systems. They will also be able to work independently and as part of ateam, and they will have excellent customer service skills.Having worked on Foreign Vehicles will be necessary – European and Asian Vehicles(Japanese & Korean) to be more specific.Knowledge:ï‚· Working knowledge of the techniques and procedures to diagnose mechanical and operatingproblems in automotive equipment;ï‚· Working knowledge of preventive maintenance inspection techniques;ï‚· Working knowledge of the methods, tools, equipment, computerized testing equipment andparts used in repairing and overhauling automotive equipment. ï‚· Working knowledge of the theory, care and operation of internal combustion engines andmechanical components for repairing and maintaining automobiles and light trucks;ï‚· Working knowledge of safe working practices. Ability to:ï‚· Diagnose the cause of mechanical failure, complex drivability problems, and safety problems inautomotive equipment and determine appropriate repairs needed;ï‚· To understand modern vehicle electronic systems and perform repairs where required.ï‚· Perform skilled repair work on automotive equipment;ï‚· Operate complex computerized diagnostic equipment;ï‚· Perform preventative maintenance on automobiles and light trucks;ï‚· Use hand and power tools safely and skillfully;ï‚· Understand and follow oral and written directions and plans;ï‚· Keep records;ï‚· Safely lift heavy objects .ï‚· Work cooperatively with others and provide positive customer service;ï‚· Learn to input, access and analyze data using a computer and adapt to technical changes.ï‚· Speak & Write in English fluently.ï‚· To be able to train and guide subordiantes. ï‚· To lead and manage a team.ï‚· To set standards and create best practices. Training and Experience: ï‚· Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an automotive technician working in a foreign vehicledealership service center preferably.ï‚· Highly experienced with either Mercedes, VW, Audi, BMW, Toyota, Nissan.ï‚· University Degree with honors in Automobile Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.ï‚· Apprenticeship programme in area of mechatronics engineering including mechanical, electrical,electronics and information technology with on-the-job training.   Job Type (Work from home /Onsite/Offsite): Onsite, Job timing / working hours: 9 am to 5pm – Monday to SaturdayJob location Complete: ICD Road, Off Mombasa Road, Nairobi, Kenya.
