Our integrated in-house production model utilizes coordinated BIM models to produce precise fabrication documentation to help ensure accurate installation.<br><br><strong>Job Summary<br><br></strong>The General Superintendent is responsible for the overall performance, coordination, and development of field operations for their assigned division. This role ensures crews are properly planned, equipped, trained, and supported to deliver safe, high-quality, productive work.<br><br>Reporting to the<br><br><strong>Director of Denver Field Operations<br><br></strong>, the General Superintendent serves as the primary field leader for the division, overseeing day-to-day execution, managing field personnel, and partnering closely with Project Management to achieve safe, efficient, and successful project outcomes.<br><br>This is a key leadership role focused on people development, workforce planning, field culture, productivity, and safety execution.<br><br><strong>Essential Duties & Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Oversee all field personnel within the division, including Superintendents, General Foremen, and Foremen.</li><li>Ensure proper staffing, crew assignments, and manpower forecasting in coordination with Project Management.</li><li>Lead onboarding, training, development, and performance coaching of field leaders.</li><li>Promote consistent use of company standards, best practices, and installation methods.</li><li>Support field leaders in daily problem-solving, planning, and work sequencing in a positive manner.</li><li>Partner with PM's to plan labor, schedule execution, and field deliverables for each project.</li><li>Oversee field startup and closeout processes at the division level.</li><li>Review project manpower plans, productivity goals, and installation workflows with Director of Field Operations.</li><li>Provide field expertise during constructability reviews, preplanning, and coordination meetings.</li><li>Monitor daily/weekly field performance and intervene early when productivity, quality, or schedule issues arise.</li><li>Uphold and reinforce the company's safety culture on every project.</li><li>Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and required training.</li><li>Support jobsite audits and partner with Safety Leadership to correct hazards and improve behaviors.</li><li>Hold field leaders accountable for safe work practices and high-quality reporting.</li><li>Ensure consistent craftsmanship and enforce company SOP installation standards.</li><li>Conduct jobsite quality walks and assist crews with technical guidance.</li><li>Support QC processes, commissioning readiness, and closeout documentation.</li><li>Coordinate with field teams with fabrication & VDC teams to align expectations and field methods.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Qualifications<br><br></strong><ul><li>10+ years of field experience in plumbing/pipefitting/sheet metal.</li><li>Current union member of UA Local 3 or 208, or SMACNA Local 9</li><li>5+ years in a field leadership role (Foreman, General Foreman, Superintendent).</li><li>Strong planning, communication, and leadership skills.</li><li>Proven ability to supervise multiple crews and job sites simultaneously.</li><li>Expertise in interpreting drawings, specifications, and installation standards.</li><li>Experience managing field labor across multiple large projects.</li><li>Familiarity with project planning tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Excel, Project, Procore).</li><li>Prior success developing field leaders and apprentices.</li><li>Strong relationship-building skills with Project Teams and Customers.<br><br></li></ul><strong>KEY COMPETENCIES<br><br></strong><ul><li>Servant Leadership Qualities</li><li>Field leadership coaching</li><li>Strong Communication skills across office & field</li><li>Workforce planning</li><li>Conflict resolution</li><li>Productivity & labor management</li><li>Safety leadership</li><li>Quality assurance / technical expertise</li><li>Collaboration & accountability<br><br></li></ul><strong>Physical Demands<br><br></strong>Must be able to stand/walk/sit for long periods of time (8 hours or more); bend/stoop, kneel<br><br>/crouch/squat while wearing a tool belt; lift, move or push up to 50 lbs; good manual dexterity (use/management of tools, typing, writing, operation of computers/mouse); ability to climb using a ladder; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.<br><br><strong>Work Environment<br><br></strong>Indoor/outdoor temperatures vary by season and assigned work location/task. While performing the duties of this job, may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration; may be exposed to a variety of extreme conditions while at construction job sites (weather, noise, etc.). Generally conducted in a temperature-controlled environment; Locations may encounter noise from machinery/equipment/vehicles or other processes and equipment. Schedule and availability will need to remain flexible to be able to respond to the field issues and/or Company needs as required.
