Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Online Course Moderator to join our dynamic remote education team. As an Online Course Moderator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth, engaging, and effective learning experience for students across various online courses. You will be responsible for facilitating discussions, managing online class interactions, monitoring course content compliance, and providing timely support to learners and instructors. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage online course forums, discussion boards, and live class interactions to ensure a respectful and constructive learning environment.

  • Facilitate discussions, respond to student queries, and escalate issues to instructors or technical support as needed.

  • Ensure course content adheres to platform guidelines and policies, flagging inappropriate or outdated materials.

  • Coordinate with course instructors to communicate updates, schedule sessions, and manage course workflows.

  • Track student engagement and participation, providing feedback or nudges to improve course completion rates.

  • Assist in resolving technical or access issues students may face, liaising with IT support when necessary.

  • Generate regular reports on course activity, student progress, and moderation outcomes for management review.

  • Stay updated on the latest e-learning trends and moderation best practices to continually improve course quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Education, Communication, IT, or related field preferred.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive or difficult situations diplomatically.

  • Proficient with online learning management systems (LMS) and digital collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Moodle).

Experience
